RICALDE
Misus Ricalde Burgueño is a filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist from Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico.
She combines experimental and socio-documentary subjects around philosophy, mysticism, gender, and social identity in complex political contexts with different platforms like film, photography, archive footage, lo-fi materials, and new media.
Her VR short film “Whispers of the Frontier”, commissioned by the UNHCR, was presented at the United Nations forum in Geneva, at the Guanajuato Film Festival GIFF, and Salón transmedia (Ambulante).
Her Photo work has been exhibited at “Fortuitous Encounters” Centro de la Imagen, Mexico City. “Lúcidos” - Ministry of Culture Jalisco, “Fellini 1920-2020” Ex-Convento del Carmen, Jalisco.
Her short film “Siniestra” was selected at the BlackCanvas Contemporary Festival, International Silent Film Festival (FICS), International Film Festival (FICMA), at Todos Ponen Feria Contemporary Art Festival, Contemporary Art Festival in Serbia Galerija Reflektor “Video Park”.
She has been selected for DocLab Academy at Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), DocsLab MX, and Residencia Zanate.
Ricalde is currently developing her feature documentary “La divina providencia" which won the IMCINE fund for development and on DocsMX Platform MX.
